Some of our favorite
things to do in the summer time include Caching in the woods and
Bar-B-Qing so we figured why not combine the two and what a better
place than our favorite spot, Busse Woods. So here's the
deal... we have chosen a location right along the bike path (in the
general area of one of the best hides in Busse Woods), which offers
a venue for some of the best caching in the Northwest Suburbs and
includes the infamous "Gotham
City is Where I Go" WhereIGo Cache as well as many
others. In addition to that we will be firing up the grill so
feel free to bring what ever you pleasure is to throw on. You
might want to bring your utensils too for BAT will do his best to
keep the grill hot for everybody (and it will have plenty of room
for all, it's a big one!). For those who wish, feel free to
bring a dish to share but please post in your will attend or via a
note here if you are bringing something. We will provide the
forks, plates, napkins and basic condiments (ketchup, mustard, and
relish). Soft drinks will be available for sale by The Geocachers of Northeast Illinois
(GONIL).
As a special treat, ShazamMan will be conducting
guided tours of the
Gotham City is Where I Go cache for those that do not have the
equipment needed to do so. Also, Scott and Walt of Chicago Geocacher Podcast will
be on hand (so be on your best behavior), and rumor has it they
might even attempt to tape a Podcast Episode live at our
event!
That's it! No frills, nothing fancy, no
contests, no raffles. Just some good old cachin, grillin and
chillin with fellow cachers. We have Grove 25 (here is
a link to the map), reserved and there are picnic tables to eat
at but you may want to bring along some lawn chairs so please don't
forget them. Princess and I look forward to seeing you all
there!
