Scout's Treasures Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LFLibrarian: I am archiving this one with a heavy heart. I stopped off today to check on it, based on the recent log that a container was present in the disabled (and supposedly empty) site. The container was not one I have ever placed, and looks like it is being used by kids as a way to have fun with the knothole, with the help of a parent who labeled the container "Scout's Treasure." My guess is that some truly lovely Muggle folks found it, didn't understand what a geocache is, and took over playing their own version of the game. No worries! But since it's entered the Muggle sphere so completely, I'm going to give up the spot.

I'll be looking for another suitable place for a Scout's Treasures II.... and this spot is now open if another cacher wants to try the spot again sometime.

Geocache Description:

As part of a visit to Manito Park, enjoy walking along what may be Spokane's prettiest street, Manito Blvd. Although there are residences on both sides of the boulevard, the wide center median with its gorgeous canopy of trees is actually part of the park. The terrain is level and the street is beautiful all year round. It is a favorite spot for dog walkers, strollers, and runners, so watch for muggles.

Please confine your search to the center median strip bounded by the trees in order to respect the privacy of the residents - no need to go anywhere near private property.

The cache site contains a very small plastic ziploc bag with a logbook and can hold a few tiny, weatherproof trinkets. Bring your own writing utensil and please be sure to camouflage the cache contents well when you are done.

For fun and extra credit email the cache owners if you can identify the title of the book to which the cache name refers. (Please don't post the answers online.) For further fun tell us the name of the business establishment in Spokane that refers to the same book and could easily be an alternate name for this cache!

Extra Credit for answering the cache questions correctly goes to:

Fitzninja; sheddybetty; dmagoo; Chumpo; Twinchofiv; TheKubs; Mr & Mrs Bear; Community School Jag, Krusen4Kache, gatorgirl78 and zoecaitlin!
