Geocache Description:

JULY 23, 2010 UPDATE:
Summer time has brought different conditions to the cache then when it was placed so I've increased the terrain and difficulty rating. There are spider webs in the area - these are cleared away occasionally by other cachers. Thanks to a recent cacher the container should now be easier to see and retrieve.

The cache is located just off the trail at Miles Canyon but don't be fooled, you need to think a little about the smartest route to get to it. DO NOT SCRAMBLE DOWN FROM THE TOP!! You will probably be within 10 feet of it when you walk by it from the main trail, keep going a bit and take the safe slope down to the river near a mini island. Expect the usual signal bounce when you get closer to the cache due to the canyon edge. Beware of thorny bushes near by.
The cache is a 500ml peanut butter jar. It is suited for travel bugs, geocoins, pins and other very small trading items. To keep with the theme I put in "Cake Walk" travel bug - please move her along to a good spot if you pick her up. BRING A PEN TO SIGN THE LOG AND IF YOU HAVE A SMALL PENCIL TO LEAVE BEHIND PLEASE DO SO. I didn't have a small enough writing stick around when I placed it. Please make sure you replace the cache carefully and ensure it is well hidden - this is a very high muggle area. I have brought my kids down that way but you need to keep a close eye on them. Miles canyon has trails that are right next to the canyon wall and there are no guard rails. The trails are very good but do have your wits about you when you are walking. The water is very cold and has a swift current - not suitable for swimming.
