La fin du Québec Central

Voici la fin de la voie du Québec Central au Lac-Frontière. Les rails arrêtent à un poteau de téléphone installé sur la voie et où manque le pont sur l’entrée du lac Frontière. Il s’agissait du point le plus à l’Est au Québec où opérait le Canadien Pacifique, puisque les provinces Atlantiques étaient desservies via l’International of Maine / Canadian Atlantic dans l’état du Maine à partir du secteur de Lac-Mégantic, en Estrie.
Le tronçon est aussi connu comme la subdivision Chaudière et le Canadien Pacifique avait officiellement arrêté sa circulation en 1986-87. Ca n’a été qu’en 1994 qu’une décision du gouvernement confirme la ligne comme abandonnée. Toutefois, la partie de la subdivision entre Vallée-Jonction, St-Georges et Daaquam a été réactivée sur la base de deux jours par semaine en Novembre 2001. Les 14 derniers kilomètres (8½ milles) de rail Algoma 85 lbs de 1920 n’ont revus que quelques excursions de passagers. En 2006, des problèmes financiers occasionnés par des problèmes de gestion et de service à la clientèle force le Québec Central à mettre ses activités en suspens.

The end of Central Québec

In Lac-Frontière is where the Central Québec track ends. The rails stop at a telephone post that is standing on the track and where a bridge to the Lac-Frontière entrance is missing. It was the most eastern point in Québec where the Canadian Pacific operated as the martime provinces were serviced by the International of Maine / Canadian Atlantic which served to the state of Maine from the Lac-Mégantic area, in the Estrie region of Québec.
This section is also know as a subdivision of the Chaudière and the Canadian Pacific had officially ended it's operation in 1986-87. Il was only in 1994 that a decision was made by the government to confirm the line was abandonned. However a part of this subdivision, between Vallée-Jonction, St-Georges and Daaquam was re-activated on a 2 days per week basis as of Novmeber 2001. The last 14 kilometers (8 1/2 miles) of the Algoma 85 lbs rail from 1920 only saw a few passenger excursions. In 2006, financial problems caused by management and customer service issues force the Central Québec to suspend it's activities.
