Geocache Description:

Park in the long parking lot on the west side of Johnny Cake Avenue. You will be in Apple Valley’s Johnny Cake Ridge West Park. The cache isn't too far from this point.

This cache is part of the "Cache to Eagle" series highlighting service projects conducted by Eagle Scout candidates. This series highlights Eagle Scout service projects in Chief Black Dog District of Northern Star Council, BSA. The Chief Black Dog District includes scout troops serving the communities of Apple Valley, Eagan, and Burnsville. This particular Eagle Scout service project was conducted in the late sping of 2009 by a Boy Scout from Troop 298. The scout worked with the City of Apple Valley. The City provided 20 Austrian Pines. The scout assembled a work crew that planted the trees, filled in the openings and mulched each tree. The trees were 4-5’ high when planted.

The project took approximately 105 hours to complete. The project will eventually provide a beautiful screen between the parking lot and the athletic complex with ball diamonds, playfields, basketball/ game courts, tennis courts, outdoor volleyball courts, hockey rinks, skating rinks, and park buildings.

Each of the twelve "Cache to Eagle" series caches for the Chief Black Dog District (in the communities of Apple Valley, Eagan, and Burnsville) have a designated code word associated with the cache. Generally, the code word will be within the cache (such as written or taped to the lid). The code word is one of the twelve points of the Scout Law. Anyone who finds all twelve "Cache to Eagle" caches for the Chief Black Dog District and emails a listing of all the codewords and associated Cache Nos. is eligible to receive a special "Cache to Eagle" patch. Copy and complete the following list. Then E-mail it to get the patch.:
