Geocache Description:

Park in the parking lot off Ridgeview Drive and you are in the middle of a great park that features one of the finest Frisbee Golf Courses in the area. At every "hole" of this 12-hole Frisbee Golf Course, there is part of an Eagle Scout service project performed by a scout from Troop 204. The scout measured the dimensions of each hole and used a computer program to make maps for each hole. The maps were laminated and then attached to a post for each hole. This was the end of the first phase of the project. The second or installation phase required digging holes for posts at each hole, mixing and hauling cement all over the course and permanently setting the post and map at the "tee-off" box for each hole. Once dried, the removed dirt had to be placed around the post. The pictures show the installation phase of this project.

All in all, the project took nearly 200 hours. The scout indicated that he selected a project that was personally meaningful to him. He plays the cours, and now has the satisfaction of knowing new Frisbee Golfers can tell what lies ahead.

The cache is placed near hole #9 on the course. On a busy night or weekend, there may be many mugglers that are playing the course. You can generally hear the golfers coming long before you see them. Be courteous and let them play through before resuming your hunt.

This cache is part of the "Cache to Eagle" series highlighting service projects conducted by Eagle Scout candidates. This series highligts Eagle Scout service projects in Chief Black Dog District of Northern Star Council, BSA. The Chief Black Dog District includes scout troops in the communities of Apple Valley, Eagan, and Burnsville. This particular Eagle Scout service project was conducted in the August of 2009 by a Boy Scout from Troop 204. .
