This cache is located in Cypremort Point State Park; named for nearby Cypremort Point or “the Point”. Ignore the empty container. The original cache has been taken over by its host. A new cache has been placed in this same location...keep searching!
According to the Louisiana State Parks website, Cypremort Point is the only locality near the Gulf of Mexico, between Grand Isle, Louisiana and Cameron, Louisiana that is accessible by car. The 185 acre state park is situated on Vermillion Bay and contains a ½ mile stretch of man-made beach, covered picnic tables, a fishing pavilion, 6 cabins available for rent, and acres of wetlands. Visitors to the park can find the opportunity to swim, fish, crab, ski, sail, or just relax. There is a small entrance fee to enter the park; $1.00 per person for day use, free for Seniors 62 and over and children 3 and under. Park hours: Gates are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday; entrance station is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. All park sites close at 10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and days preceding holidays.
