Living in the Past (Bay of Plenty) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Curglaff: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The Pohutakawa on this site is reported to be about 400 years old and is rumored to have a Maori chief from centuries ago buried beneath its roots.
The local council are trying to work with the local iwi to have information boards erected and to remove the supports from under the branches as they are hindering the trees natural growth.

Cache is a vitamin bottle, painted black.
Big enough for just a few small items.
It was placed with just a log so please bring your own pen.

Coordinates may be a bit out as the gps wasnt too pleased about the trees huge branches blocking signal!

Find the stormwater sump on the roadside and go straight ahead!
