This cache is in honor of Col. Aaron McPike (1814 - 1904) who is credited as being the leading founder of Vandalia, Mo. He selected the site, gave the town its name and donated many lots for sites of churches, schoolhouses and parks.
This cache should be an easy find and is placed near the final, and beautiful resting place of Col. Aaron McPike. Cache is a 35mm canister. Please provide your own pen or pencil. Getting to the location is easy, but the cache is not within arms reach from a wheelchair.
The cache is located at the Vandalia Cemetery, which is located on the outer edge of the city. Please stay on the vehicle paths, which are normally in excellent condition. From there you will be able to park within just a few feet of the cache.
