Geocache Description:

Waterproof key holder along a scenic old railroad trail. On your way out you can pick up presents for your naughty friends.

Located on an abandoned railroad bed which is maintained by the Ocean County Natural land trust. The Trust is funded by a tax that was approved by the voters of Ocean County. The railbed is next to a section of the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge. Do not leave the railbed and trespass on the refuge. Good birding and a nice easy walk. After finding the cache, cross the road and you can see the remains of the railroad bridge that burned in 1946. When at the cache site, look North and you will see a group of antennas and a brick building.. This was the site of an ATT ship to shore radio transmitting station. It it is amazing how much history has happened in a small bit of marsh that people drive past without a look.
