Geocache Description:

We were playing around in the Jeep and came across a marker of the National Historical Trail. The road leads to a water treatment plant so you will have to turn around and exit the same way you entered and there may be someone at the gate, but surely it is OK to check out an historical marker?

This marks the Truckee Trail - Steamboat Creek which was crossed by the Harriet Ward family in 1853. This would have been most interesting to observe - they had to move on and be creative in their efforts.
