Spent two nights here on our much needed power vacation. Absolutely
beautiful! Had the place to ourselves the first night and quite
neighbors at the other end of the cove the next night. We saw a
sunset phenomenon where it looked like there were two suns setting,
very cool! As usual the picture just does not do it justice. The
one on the left had a rainbow effect and they looked much brighter.
Looks like they have just been through the campground and have it
all slicked out real nice with split firewood around but it is
still green. We brought some seasoned almond wood and were able to
use some of the green wood as a filler once the fire got hot
enough. Even has a nice clean outhouse on site. The middle of the
McCloud arm looked like it needed some caches between the others so
we planted away
Difficulty rating is high as we hid this one very well, or tried
to, because of the upcoming Memorial day weekend hoping that no
party muggles will find it! Also, our GPS was having difficulty
trying to work out here, not sure if it was our unit, which has
been acting up for some time, or the tree canopy. I would shoot a
point then try to drive to it and it would be 50 to 80’ off
–UGH- Anyway, Please re-hide as well or even better than when
found to keep it muggle safe. A keen cachers eye should be able to
recognize the un-ordinary.
The terrain rating is based on you need to have a boat to get
there and in anticipation of the lake dropping for the summer. Once
you are at the site and if the lake is at the treeline as it is
now, the terrain is probably a 1.5 – 2.0. Please give me
feedback on this.
The steps leading up from the water at the campsite just below the
cache are courtesy of Mrs. Rooks
We also added a picture of some more wildflowers and need help
identifying it.
The cache follows our campground theme and has games, brain teaser
puzzle, tools, Nerf Frisbee, cool swaggish toys, and some great
camp reading material!
Our Ole Buddy Abe is there waiting to greet the FTF.
Enjoy!
