Geocache Description:

A walk to the end of the fisherman's trail and a change in the River Ayr.

OSWALD'S END

Follow the North Bank of the River Ayr to the West. Climb over the stone style towards the River Ayr and follow the gently undulating path beside the river.

The path takes you past some fishing shelters and the waymarked remains of one of two wagon way bridges that spanned the River Ayr. Evidence of coal can be found in the field boundries as you walk.

The cache is located at the end of the trail and is situated near to where the River Ayr changes its complexion from Gorge to Pasture.

Parking:- During the Winter the gates to the Oswald Hall Car Park are closed in the evenings and at weekends. Entry is through the main college gate through the automatic barrier. Turn right and follow the signs for Oswald Hall.

This is a little used but well maintained path and on a Sunny day is an ideal spot to linger.

We sincerely hope you enjoy the walk.
