Geocache Description:

This site has benefited greatly from their partnership with the Boy Scouts of America. According to one church member, there are ten Eagle Scout Projects on these grounds. The Eagle Service projects include a flagpole, a fire ring, landscaping at the entrance, picnic tables and more. The most recent Eagle Service project is an entrance trellis to a prayer labyrinth. The Scout from Troop 204 removed the old entrance trellis, and planned and purchased the materials for the new entrance trellis. The scout then organized a work crew and supervised the building of the new entrance trellis. He also planted foxglove and clemantis (a climbing plant) on both sides of the trellis. By the way, the prayer labyrinth itself was another Eagle Scout Service Project done by a scout from Troop 298.

Permission to place this cache was obtained by the scout liason to the church who sought and obtained permission from the church elders. According to the scout liason, the church has "...enjoyed a great relationship with the Boy Scouts of America."

This cache is part of the "Cache to Eagle" series highlighting service projects conducted by Eagle Scout candidates. This series highligts Eagle Scout service projects in Chief Black Dog District of Northern Star Council, BSA. The Chief Black Dog District includes scout troops in the communities of Apple Valley, Eagan, and Burnsville. This particular Eagle Scout service project was conducted in the August of 2009 by a Boy Scout from Troop 204..
