Geocache Description:

On our way to Chitek Lake and spotted this POI. Decided it was a Good Spot for a Strech(If you know what we mean )
After reading the Plaque decided this would be a Great Spot for a Cache.
Some info: About 1800--- yes that is 1800-- Fur traders used this trail to bring Pemmican,The main food supply, for Boatmen from the Plains to Green Lake.By the 1860's Fur's and Trade Goods were being transported to and from Fort Carlton. In order to avoid the longer water route dog sleds were used in the winter and Red River Carts in the summer. They hauled goods over this 170KM Route(Bet it was not KM's back then )
Chek out the marker at GZ when you are there for all the interesting data.
Enjoy The Hunt.

CONGRATULATIONS to Turtle_145 for FTF Hope your Reunion went well.Cache On.
