Geocache Description:

Sixth and last in a series along 2 miles of the Fall Creek Trail. Park at the trail head lot on the NE side of the bridge at Rd 1828.

Note that this one is close to the Portland Pools cache but there is no bridge to access this trail from there.

This section of trail has always been one of my favorites and when the Clark Fire raged a few years ago, I hoped this area would be spared. When the gates finally opened, I went up and found most of my old route intact. This series of caches runs through some magnificent old growth fir, cedar, and maple to the edge of the burn.

This cache is located just within the burn area. It's amazing how abrupt the line is. Thanks to all the folks who worked so hard to make that so.

I thought this new feature was a nice place to stop and rest before heading home. Take a look at how nature is coming back and enjoy the view. The coordinates were not so good on this rainy day, so the hint is a spoiler.

9.5.14 This area has grown up so much since I placed the cache. The three little seats are crumbling but still there.
