At the bridge/crossing of the Coalfields Road and a branch of the
Collie River we have observed an old tree stump with a white band
around it. Nothing too unusual about that, however this line
actually marks the highest point the water in the Wellington Dam
rises. Thus if the water reaches this line the Wellington Dam is
about to or is overflowing.
The kids always enjoy driving past, watching this water level
rise to this point and the anticipation of a possible visit to
Wellington Dam to see the overflow.
The cache is a camouflaged sistema container with space for
tradeables and trackables. It is hidden further up in the bush away
from the waterline (water's high point in winter).
