This is meant to be our annual anniversary meet and greet event. The inaugural OVC nerd day was held 07-07-07 since we can't make a weekend closer to that than this (because that whole 4th of July thing gets in the way)...this is it Happy Anniversary Ojai Valley Cachers!!
There will be door prizes,the Humane Society is now providing a full on Barbie Q, they are going to provide Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, drinks and of course watermelon UMM UMM UMMMM!! and much much more. Make sure you put this page on your watchlist. We will also be helping out one of Ojai's favorite institutions.
The event is going to be held at the Ojai Valley Humane Society The address is 402 Bryant street in Ojai
. One of the best dogs I ever lived with came from this facility. They are doing such a great job of getting people and pets together that I am hoping we can help them out with a few hours of our labor.
Here is an actual list of things they would like to accomplish. We may get it all done or just some of it, but ALL of our work will be appreciated
Spreading sand in play yards
Putting up shelters over play yards
Trimming the bottom of the pepper trees up the driveway
Trimming the rose bushes up the driveway
Weed abatement in the front of the building
Trimming the bottom limbs of trees around the kennel
Filling holes in the dog play yards
Painting the baseboards in the hall
touching up paint in the bathroom along with putting the vent cover back up
Cleaning the leaves out of the rain gutters
Pulling weeds in the back pasture
moving cages and furniture to storage.
sanding and refinishing a memorial bench
repainting 2 picnic tables
Most of the work requires very little skill but a large heart
If any of the particular tasks sounds like something you really want to do or are especially good at please contact me
If you have gardening tools, tarps, painting equipment, wheel barrows ladders etc that you could lend just for the day let me know
I am thinking we will meet at 8am work til noon and then enjoy a Bar B Que
