Congratulations to Sharrowfamily for being the FTF for this cache. Your tenacity for coming back paid off this time. Good luck on reaching your 500th cache. Will probably happen this weekend in Tampa.
For my very first hide, I'm placing this cache close to home. It's small, it's camoed, it's on the way to a higher education.
This won't be a tough search for experienced cachers. It's located slightly into some woods off a public access entrance to Seminole State College. Be sure you're prepared for minor bushwacking. The container has good camo. Bug spray might be desired but I did not encounter any mosquitos on the way in nor when I hid the cache. As far as I know, there are no water sources (ponds, creeks, lakes, wetlands) within 100 feet of the cache. Beware of hanging vines. The vegetation is typical of Florida and I was cognizant that there was no poison ivy in the area. There are power lines fairly close by so expect some interference or bouncing with your GPSr. When I place this cache, I came back three times to the same location and the coordinates always read the same. It did however, take time for the numbers to settle down and keep from bouncing. This is a small container so be sure you bring your own writing implement. I noticed two holes indicative of gopher tortoises so please be mindful of their habitat. Hope you enjoy looking for this cache since it's my first. A rite of passage for a geocacher!
There is no parking along the road so you'll have to bike over or hike over. Please do not park on the side of the road because you could get a ticket. This is a through street with no parking.
A crisp one dollar bill and blank log sheet await the FTF geocacher. That's all I could fit in the container. And one last note: Bring an appropriate extraction tool with you as it might be difficult getting the log sheet out of the cache.
And one last plea. Put the cache back exactly as you found it. The idea is that it blends in with the surroundings.
