Geocache Description:


The Tuscarora Trail is challenging, the SCENERY IS MAGNIFICENT and it's a beautiful natural setting. Several caches have been placed along this trail in the Berkeley and Morgan County area.

The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) map can be accessed at ( (visit link) ) with the Tuscarora Trail info on page 4. Notice on that map there are 4 places where parking is noted and you have trail access.

• Spruce Pine Hollow Park
• Devil’s Nose Parking area
• Eagle’s Nest Parking area
• Sleepy Creek Lake Parking

This cache is located closest to Eagle’s Nest Parking area. Eagle’s Nest Parking can be accessed by turning off Mountain Lake Road into Sleepy Hollow Subdivision. You will be Audubon Road . Stay on Audubon Road until it ends at the Sleepy Creek WMA Third Trail Access Parking area. (2.9 Miles)

The trail consists of painted BLUE blazes on trees.

Parking at the Parking Coordinates noted below you can hike the Tuscarora Trail North towards Devil’s Nose and then on to Spruce Pine Hollow Park or South towards Sleepy Creek Lake.

This cache : is South of the parking heading towards Sleepy Creek Lake on the new re-routed Tuscarora Trail. This portion of the Tuscarora Trail is shared with the Third Mountain Trail.

This cache is within feet of the trail and must be returned exactly as found to prevent being muggled. It is in plain view.
