Geocache Description:

This cache is in a camouflaged medium-sized snapware (lock-n-lock) container located in an area that is a bit off the beaten path, which is usually full of muggles. Once you get off the path, you should be sheltered enough to search, find, trade, log and replace without too much distraction. The cache may be difficult to find in snow (but maybe not due to the protection of the trees in the area). There shouldn’t be a need to bring a writing utensil, as a pencil is contained within the cache.

My 6-year-old son, who has been my steady geocaching partner since we started this fun hobby in late summer 2009, created this cache. He wanted to hide his own cache for quite a while, so a few months ago I asked him to fill a cache container with items he thought would be cool. So enjoy the original items in the cache including: baseball, whistle, chalk, dragonfly, lego figure, trading cards from his favorite TV show, and a car. We couldn’t fit a soccer ball in it, otherwise that would be there too! He picked the cache and location, so it is truly HIS cache!

Also, to mark his first geocache hide, we included a travel bug “Boy’s First Cache” with the goal to visit all 50 US states. We look forward to following those travels over the months to come.

The cache is hidden in an area that is just off of a major pedestrian (& bicycle) pathway. The location is between campus and the beach along Lake Michigan. Entry to where the cache is located should be obvious by the coordinates, but if you need help, check out the hint (which will really give away much of the search – so only check the hint if you are running into trouble finding it!).

This was a blast to put together and I enjoyed helping my boy realize an important goal: his first geocache! Happy hunting and we hope you enjoy finding it as much as we did hiding it!
