Colorado Springs Bookcrossing Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MikeAndJuli: I want to thank everyone who found this cache and helped keep it active for so many years. I fought hard to try to keep this one alive, and it is sad to see this one go. After a few messages with the new occupants here and presenting a few different and creative options to keep this cache alive, they did not want to explore the matter and just sent the information on up the corporate chain. This is the final message received:

"Mike,

I am being advised by our legal team to not allow this on our property. I am sorry for the delay in responding."

Thanks again to the geocachers who make this game possible. We hope Geocaching will allow us to place another BookCrossing Cache one day.

Geocache Description:

A place for Caching unwanted books. BOOKS (and bookmarks) ONLY (please)! Groundspeak trackables are also welcome. Books do not need to be registered on Bookcrossing, but if they are they can be fun to track.

Official Bookcrossing Zone! You can now release your books into the cache by selecting "wild release," "Colorado," "in a geocache" and the name/gc code that I've already entered :)

The cache is stocked with books that have been registered at BookCrossing and "released into the wild". Look for the BCID # on each book. This number allows you to track the book like a travel bug on the BookCrossing Web site. Please go to www.bookcrossing.com to make a journal entry for any books that you take. If you'd like to leave a book, you may register it on bookcrossing before dropping it in the cache.

You do not have to leave a book to take a book! Like travel bugs, BookCrossing books want to find new friends. Books do not have to be returned to this cache. Give them to friends, family members or just leave them somewhere that they will be found such as your local coffee shop or another geocache.

Please list what you take and leave. Do not mention BCID's in log entries. I have added some large resealable bags in case the seal on the cache begins to fail or the weather is concerning. Please feel free to enclose books in them as you see fit, but don't remove the bags from the cache. There is no need to put the log in a bag, it is on water resistant paper. If the cache is running low on books or resealable bags, please state this in your log so that I can restock. Groundspeak Track-ables (TB's, Coins, tags etc) are always welcome.

No prize for FTF except pick of some of my books. ;)

Congratulations to OF-Erad for FTF.
