Frank Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ryouell: The place where Frank was hidden has become a 'play' area for local teenagers.
Expect to find empty beer cans, cigarette ends and other assorted litter -but sadly - no geocache at this site. Thanks to the 58 people who have visited Frank over the last 2 years. I will hide another cache in this area soon.

Geocache Description:

Between Car Dyke and river Cam

Can either be reached from the river Cam towpath - exit the towpath next to the bench at N52.25501 E0.19209 - or from Waterbeach rec (with new cricket pavillion).

Nearest parking is at Waterbeach rec or near to the Bridge Inn at Clayhithe. Alternatively, nice walk up the river from Baits Bite lock at Milton or even from The Pike and Eel in Chesterton, Cambridge. Circular walk including cache, Waterbeach village (inc village green), newly planted wood, river, and Car Dyke roman path is exactly 2 miles.

In small copse next to footpath between River Cam and Waterbeach recreation field (Car Dyke footpath). If approaching from the river you will need to cross the railway line - please be careful crossing and shut the gates behind you. This footpath is not shown on OS maps - but is well used.

The cache itself is well hidden in a small wood next to the footpath. There is one place where there is a small opening into the wood (see photo). On entering you will see a large puddle (see photo) - turn left - cache 15m. Some undergrowth to scramble through.
