It is my intention to archive this cache and the rest of the While-away walk - do soon if you are interested.
This is one of a series of caches intended to be visited on a circular walk around the villages of Woodbury and Woodbury Salterton.
I would recommend initially turning left at the end of Flower Street then taking the first right along Mirey Lane. This will bring you up to Woodbury Church which dates from the 15 Century. Turn right at the church and take the first right then go up the short hill to the left. The footpath starts beside the village allotments.
Done, as intended, walk will cover just short of 4.5 miles over mainly flat terrain with only a couple of uphill stretches when walked clockwise. The walk consists of roughly equal amounts across field footpaths and along country/village roads.
In good weather the paths should be mainly dry but you are likely to find a muddy, boggy area around cache number 5. The paths should be expected to be muddy after rain. The whole walk is graded with a difficulty rating of 2 and a terrain rating of 3.25 with each cache being given an individual rating as a ‘cache & dash’.
The recommended start point is the free car park in Flower Street, Woodbury. All the cache descriptions reflect a clockwise walk from this point. If you prefer though, the walk can be completed in either direction.
There are two pubs in Woodbury and one in Woodbury Salterton if refreshment is required and
there are public toilets (available during the day) next to the recommended parking.
