Geocache Description:

Small Lock n Lock on a new trail in Jefferson Forest, a few dozen feet off the trail near the top of a ridge overlooking the trail. The container is about 4" by 5" and will hold travelbugs and small trade items. There's a logbook and a pencil inside. The hint is a real spoiler, so you shouldn't miss the cache if you use it. As with many caches there's an easy way and a hard way to this, if you happen on the easy way it's a bit easier than 3-star terrain.

This is called the Yost Ridge Trail and as I was going to hide the cache I actually talked to some people who were putting finishing touches on the trail. It doesn't officially open until June 5th but they were actually very pleased to see my group hiking today, so early arrivals seem to be very welcome.

As we were climbing this ridge we saw a turtle, and the wildlife expert in the group informed us the ridge was actually known as Turtle Hill. Well, even if it wasn't before, it is now! This new trail connects to a bunch of others ones. It's wide enough for a large ATV to drive, but I assume it's foot traffic only.

We parked at the visitor's center and it was maybe a 20 minute hike to here. There might be closer parking.
