Matcham Meander Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

t.a.folk: Regreteably archiving another another of our "historic caches ".
After finding our nearby Time for Walkies cache had been put inside two poly bags we concluded we had better do an owner check on this cache too .
This one pleasingly was not in poly bags ,but it was again not placed as per hint .
But beside that on our meander along the tracks we realised we did not want to maintain this cache any longer ,so the space is freed up for another cacher .
TAHNKYOU FOR THE PAST NICE LOGS.

Note. To avoid a dip in one of the paths, that can be a mini pond in the wet season, we suggest NOT turning left from the gravel track until reaching the junction about 400 metres along from the car park.)

Info about Hurn Forest from Hurn Parish website ."Hurn Forest 377 hectares, is located between the eastern margins of the Moors River SSSI and Barnsfield Heath to the north. The current woodland structure of Hurn forest is predominantly conifers, planted, grown and felled on a rotational basis to provide wood for the timber industry. There are elements of broadleaf woodland within the forest as well as bog woodland adjacent to the Moors River. The age structure of the woodland is largely between 20 and 60 years with a small amount of younger and older trees. Open space exists throughout, both as a result of ride widening and heathland restoration carried out as part of the Forests and Heathland Initiative."

Cache 15 paces from path involving stepping across some dead stick debri and a little summer bracken . West side of bank presently gives easiest final approach .(both g.p.s.had 4 metre accuracy on day of placing)
