John and Henry Kilmister, sons of the early settler John Kilmister, brought Sky Farm or Kilmister Tops from the Crown in the 1860’s and split the land in half. The first set of Pines to the south of Mt Kaukau was on Henry’s half and known as Henry’s Pines. About 1km further south is a second set of pines which were on John Kilmisters land. There is also a cache close to John’s Pines GC1HKHA - Moo Please observe the usual Safety requirements when venturing out on to exposed hill top areas. • Check the weather forecast before your trip • Carry warm and waterproof clothing • Wear a good pair of boots or walking shoes Camoed small cliptop container.Please NOTE that you must sign the logbook for each individual cacher, Finds logged not corrosponding with the logbook may be deleted. Please take some time before leaving to ensure that the cache is re-hidden exactly as you found it.
