The Burren is famous for its flowers. Three-quarters of Ireland's native flower species can be found in the Burren region. We placed the cache in May which is a great month for flowers in the Burren - you'll find mountain aven, bloody cranesbill, bird's foot trefoil, spring gentians and a variety of orchids along this path.
For more details of the 18km scenic walk see Black Head #1 - Caher River. If you are interested in finding out what flowers to look out for on your visit to this area the Burrenbeo Trust Flora Gallery is a good place to start.
Please respect the Burren Code. There is no need to cross dry stone walls. Use the gates and stiles provided.
If you are doing the scenic walk you're next stop will be Black Head #9 - The Limestone Headlight.
We hope you enjoy the walk and are successful with all the caches along the route :-)
