CACHE ID: #1 CACHE NAME: (Can be found in cache box)

Congratulations! You’ve found a BSA geocaching site (intentionally or not). This cache is called (can be found in cache box) and has been placed here by Scouts. If you’re wondering what this hidden container is for and what the heck all these things are inside it, let us introduce you to geocaching.

Geocaching is a global sport where players use GPS units or other navigation devices to find hidden treasure containers, called “caches” or “geocaches.” Players across the world have hidden literally hundreds of thousands of caches for others to find.

If you found this cache by accident, you’re welcome to join us! We only ask that you respect these basic rules:
• Do not move or vandalize the container. The fun of the sport is for players to find these containers and share your thoughts with others that find it.
• If you take something from the cache, leave something behind. If you wish, go ahead and take something. But please leave something of your own in its place for others to find, so the game can continue on.
• Write in our online log. Visit www.geocaching.com and write about your experience in our log. You’ll need the cache ID number #1, so write it down. If you’re a Scouting alum, be sure to tell us about your time with Scouting. You can also visit www.BSAalumni.org to reconnect.

If this container needs to be removed for any reason, please contact bsagetinthegame@gmail.com. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Learn more about Scouting and how you can be part of our 100th Anniversary Celebration at Scouting.org.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete a project that — on average — requires 167 service hours. In 2008 alone, that translated to $16 million in service (based on the national volunteer hour value of $19.51).

This cache is part of a nationwide geocaching series called "Cache to Eagle" that showcases these special contributions. This particular project provided a much needed bridge over the Mid State Trail in Charlton. Ian Robinson, with the help of other Scouters and local donors, conceived, planned and executed the construction of this bridge where only stepping stones had existed before.

Over its first 100 years, Scouting has provided millions of hours of service to communities across America. For our 100th Anniversary, we’re celebrating that legacy with special service opportunities through "A Year of Celebration, A Century of Making a Difference". Visit Scouting.org/100years to learn more.

There are 12 caches in the Mohegan Council Cache to Eagle Series. You will find one of the 12 points of the Scout Law inside each cache. When you have found all 12 caches, send a list of the caches with the corresponding Scout Law, your name and mailing address to Geocaching.com user Mohegan-BSA. If your list is correct, we'll send you a Cache to Eagle commemorative patch!
