Geocache Description:

This regular geocache is located at Pioneer Mount Solo Cemetery in Longview, WA.

This small cemetery has an interesting history behind it dating back to the 19th century. Far before the city of Longview was even imagened, small settlements were common across the valley. One of those communities was that of Mount Solo (named after the hill it sits on). This community was made up mostly of Finnish people.

29 people built this cemetery in 1897. Early record keeping was poor, and the excate number of people burried there is unknown. The cemetery is still in use today though, and currently there are over 240 known burrials.

To enter the cemetery, drive on the street to the very end. There is parking there and a second entrance. As always, please be respectful of the area.
