.Yongala Vale School
In the early 1900's, when allotments were made of the Yongala Estate, there became a demand for schools. And so schools like "Yongala Woolshed", which operated in 1903, and "Yongala Blocks" in 1904, existed. In 1905 the Yongala Vale School was built and Mr. Paul Geyling, who had been at the "Woolshed" became the first teacher. Some pupils transferred from the Woolshed School to Yongala Vale, while others went to the Yongala Blocks School, which in 1905 became the Canowie Belt School.
The new Yongala Vale School was considered to be very modern by the standards of that time with wall blackboards instead of easels, and with sliding windows. It was painted white, both inside and out.
Attendances varied, but until 1918 an average of thirty or above was maintained. A peak of 41.1 in 1915 resulted in the appointment of monitors. From 1918 the attendance gradually declined. In 1939 it was only 5.0 and the school was closed on 13th May in that year.
