Boulder Dash is a series of 13 caches along a 10 km trail loop on
the southwestern slopes of McKee Peak on Sumas Mountain.
This series of caches will bring you to varied scenery with
waterfalls, rock formations, some rock bluffs, and lots of wildlife
with great views of the Fraser Valley. The full loop will take
approximately 4 to 6 hours to complete. It is easy to adjust the
loop for shorter hikes.
You can start the series at two different points - parking is
available at N 49 03.701 W 122 14.206 (Harvest Drive) and at N 49
03.213 W 122 13.466 (Sandringham Drive). The construction of the
Whatcom Road Connector is currently underway. The site is clearly
marked and fenced off so there is no need to trespass. Please note
the coords for the trailhead off Sandringham Drive - N 49 03.279 W
122 13.669 - as it is easy to walk past it. Steep entrance here.
All caches are a variety of small containers hidden within feet
of the trail so no bushwhacking is required. Trails can be slippery
when wet. Please give mountain bikers the right of way. They built
and maintain several trails in the area.
The FTF prize will be awarded to the first geocacher who can
correctly identify, in the right order, the type and shape of all
cache containers in this series.
