The coordinates are for a sign to the Blue Hole, an 81 foot deep natural artesian well. Its location, depth, good visibility, year-round availability, dive platforms, and ample yet confined space make it ideal for conducting classes.
While the Blue Hole is a relatively safe diving location, this cache should only be attempted by those with proper SCUBA equipment, training, and exposure protection as this is a deep dive at altitude in 63 degree water.
At the bottom of the Blue Hole there is a grated entrance to a cave system. The grate was placed there decades ago in response to deaths of 2 divers in the caves. Near the grate (usually leaning against it but things in the Blue Hole do tend to move around and/or disappear) is a decidedly more light-hearted memorial.
In order to solve this puzzle the following pieces of information are needed from the tombstone:
The name of the "deceased".
The date from the marker.
The number of friends who placed the memorial.

where
a/bc/defg is the date,
h is the number of letters in the first name,
and i is the number of friends who placed the cache.
While the name can be found in blog posts on-line the other information cannot and posts giving clues will be deleted.
Congratulations to Scubagirl2 and littlelinda on the FTF and thanks to Scubagirl2 for both the history lesson and the additional warning. Even if you are SCUBA open water certified you should not make this your first deep dive without an instructor along.
