This cache is placed in Memory of PFC. Jeffrey Robert Wallace. One of very few babies born at the Hoopeston hospital in the past 50 years he decided to arrive during a blizzard and could not make it to Watseka. He spent the first few days in the sunlight of a window to take care of a slight case of jaundice. It seemed he was born with no fear and was climbing shortly after he was crawling. At 11 months while visiting his Uncle Steve (who gave him the nickname Jeffro) in Arkansas he started walking which turned into running very soon. he had stitches in his tongue and chin(twice)and a broken arm by the time he was 5. Jeffro was born to play football. Although he ran many discipline laps for some unruliness he always came out ready to play on gameday and gave it his all. Jeff was an average student. Better grades were possible but there was fun to be had and he was intent on having it. Without fun you not living your just alive. Jeff joined wrestling in Jr. high and went to the state wrestling tournament in his 8th grade year. Jeff graduated in 2003.

Jeff had said since he was 17 that he was going to join the Army and although against his families wishes Jeff did just that in January 2004. Jeff graduated bootcamp in the spring in a ceremony that was way cooler and classier than any high school graduation. Jeff was assigned to FT. Stewart in Georgia after bootcamp and was awarded a medal for merit after a training exercise in Louisiana. He was deployed to Iraq in the spring of 2005. Jeff was assigned to a special unit that escorted vips around Bagdad. On a fateful day at the end of May Jeff's Humvee was struck by an improvised explosive devise (IED) handing Jeff his fate. Also killed in the explosion were his good friends and comrads Sgt. Charles Drier and Spc. Dustin Fisher. "To all my family and friends I leave behind know that I loved you all. I live on through you!"
