Geocache Description:

This is the 17th geocache in the Ghost Train series. Please don't park on the Route 101 shoulder as it might be dangerous. Please make sure that when you replace the container after signing the log that the ring is in the notch so that the container doesn't fly away.

This cache is part of the Ghost Train series of caches along the route of the old Milford to Manchester Railroad. We've long been intrigued by the Milford and Manchester Railroad that was only in use for a few short years. A list of this series can be found at the bookmark:
Ghost Train Series

This cache is placed on the old railroad bed close to where the railroad curved north to head towards Goffstown from Bedford. What I find interesting is the contrast between the grade of the railroad bed, the grade of the land on each side of the railroad bed, and the grade of Route 101.

Parking can be found nearby in the lots for the office park. I recommend you park there rather than on Route 101 which gets a lot of traffic.

If you walk directly north from the suggested parking you'll hit the old bed of the railroad and you'll have an easy walk along the bed to the GZ where you'll be looking for a micro (but it shouldn't be that hard to find).

A bit more information on the railroad (owned by the Boston and
Maine Railroad) can be found here:

Congratulations to boula and boulette on their FTF!
