Lundemo Store and Post Office was started on John Waldum's land in 1905. He ran the store and made the two day journey by horse and wagon to Wetaskiwin for the mail and groceries. Mail was carried in a barrel for any homesteader who wanted it. Rarely did a man set out alone on trips, rough storms came up frequently, especially in winter. Snow was deep. One time, the temperature went down to 62 degrees below zero, F. The Waldum's kept the Post Office until he suffered a stroke in 1928.
