Geocache Description:

Ein kleiner Lost Place im Gewerbegebiet Bahnhof Wiesloch-Walldorf

Auf dem Gelände des Gewerbegebietes war früher die Tonwarenindustrie Wiesloch AG, gegründet 1897, stellte im wesentlichen Dachziegel her. In der Blütezeit 1953 arbeitet hier 361 Leute. 1989 wurde die Produktion eingestellt.

Es sind noch zwei Gebäude erhalten, das Verwaltungsgebäude von 1899 und die Direktorenvilla von 1928 (kann man übrigens kaufen für 210.000 € ;-) ...).

Vom Bahnanschluss sind auf dem Gelände noch verschiedentlich Schienen zu sehen, welche auch teilweise dem Feldbahn- &Industriemuseum Wiesloch noch immer dienen. Das Museum nutzt auch den ehemaligen Lokschuppen der TIW AG, schön restauriert.

Und bei den verfallenen Gebäuden es gibt noch einen Rest der Eisenbahnbrücke über den Leimbach, der seltsamerweise höher gesetzt, aber nicht entfernt wurde.

Der Zugang zum Cache kann durch Dornen und Brennesseln gehen, bitte beachten.

A little Lost Place in the commercial area of the railway station Wiesloch-Walldorf

That area has been used by Tonwarenindustrie Wiesloch AG, founded in 1897, producing roofing tiles. In heydays 1953, 361 people did work here. Production ended in 1989.

Two building remained, the management building from 1899 and the directors villa from 1928 (you may buy them for 210.000 € ;-) ...).

On the area are still tracks to be seen from the rail connection. Some are still used by the Feldbahn- &Industriemuseum Wiesloch. That museum is using the former enginehouse of theTIW AG, nice restored.

Near the ruinous buildings is a remain railway bridge, crossing the Leimbach, couriosly raised but not removed.

Access to the cache may lead through thorns and stinging nettles, please regard.

Please leave logbook, pencil, sharpener and silica gel in the box.
