The Tuscarora Trail is challenging, the SCENERY IS MAGNIFICENT and it's a beautiful natural setting.
There are 4 places where parking is noted and you have trail access.
• Spruce Pine Hollow Park
• Devil’s Nose Parking area
• Eagle’s Nest Parking area
• Sleepy Creek Lake Parking
To make you hike enjoyable, do some research, decide how far you would like to hike, where you want to park or set up shuttles if your not hiking the entire trail, and come prepared (water and bug spray). The trail is in excellent condition. Terrain rating is based on hiking the entire trail, not this one cache.
This cache is located closest to Eagle’s Nest Parking area and between Eagle's Nest Parking area and Devil's Nose. Eagle’s Nest Parking can be accessed by turning off Mountain Lake Road into Sleepy Hollow Subdivision. You will be Audubon Road . Stay on Audubon Road until it ends at the Sleepy Creek WMA Third Trail Access Parking area. (2.9 Miles)
The trail consists of painted BLUE blazes on trees. Be careful not to miss the turns marked by double blue blazes.
This Cache : Any young person making this hike needs something to look forward to. So, I have placed a cache, its a large ammo can, filled with SWAG for kids.
Adults please sign the log and help by dropping off some good kids SWAG, but please refrain from taking anything. Let's save the stuff in the cache for the ones making the hike. Try to resist the temptation of taking it home to the kids.
It's and easy cache, close to the trail.
