Geocache Description:

A pleasant walk along a grassy track through native bush, this should take about 1 hour return.

There is parking at the Leith Saddle carpark at the top of the motorway.

Track entry is recommended at S 45 47.779 E 170 30.818 which is a short distance down the Waitati Valley Road. This will give almost level access.

Walk along the pipeline track past the Burns Track sign, and turn left off the main track at Ref Pt T1, walk a short distance to a small clearing where you may see the remains of a workman's hut which has been recently demolished. At Ref Pt T2, you will notice a track heading upstream alongside the creek, follow this track to the weir.

To find the cache, it is necessary to cross the weir and follow the track up the short rise away from the creek bed to the cache site.

You are looking for a 200ml clear sistema container with logbook, pen and pencil.

Once you have found the cache, you can choose to retrace your steps back to the main track at Ref Pt T1, or comtinue on the loop track and emerge at Ref Pt T3 on the main track.

If you are approaching this cache from the Rustlers Ridge track, then follow the above instructions in reverse.
