Geocache Description:

If you have driven I-70 through Clear Creek County, Colorado you have driven under a bridge between Silver Plume and Bakersville and may have asked yourself "Where does that bridge go?," "Why is it there?" and " How do I get there?" This cache is as short walk from the North side of the bridge.

Last week we found Clear Creek Bug Cache and saw the trailhead for the Argentine Trail. We walked up this trail about 2 1/2 miles to some old mines where we met a local from Georgetown. He told us the story about this bridge. When I-70 was built there were houses on the North side of the new interstate which would have cut off access to the homes. They had to provide access and that is why the bridge was built. The highway noise was too much to bear and the owners moved the houses. We thought this would be a great place for a new cache

Access to the bridge is from the Frontage Road (old US 6). Eastbound, exit at Bakersville. Westbound, exit at Silver Plume.

There are roads/trails going East and West from the North side of the Bridge if you want to explore.
