in our disclaimer.
This cache is a micro, so please bring a pen or pencil to sign the log. It can be a very busy area depending upon the time of day, and especially the time of year. There will be many students and faculty in the area, so stealth will be required. Also, please respect the property and area around the cache.
The name of this cache is the Latin word for the place where it is found … being on a university campus, we figured the Latin translation would be appropriate for the name! We stumbled upon this area during our early days of geocaching. When we realized that a cache still hadn’t been placed here … we sought to change that. It was hard to find the right location, and the right type of cache. We tried by the beach, but couldn’t find the right place that wouldn’t be easily muggled. We tried in the park area, but couldn’t find an appropriate surface to place it. Then, as we were leaving, my son pointed to the location where it currently resides – should be well hidden from non-cachers, yet a good enough spot to create a nice search. Hope you enjoy … and watch out for the muggles who will most likely take the form of faculty and students who work and live in the area. Use the clue to help find it:
In the area where I reside,
You’ll find that I will hide.
In a place that is full of fun,
For those who are young.
I can be found in between,
Fraternities that are the scene,
And a park and a hidden beach,
For me, you’ll have to reach.
You can access me in a few ways,
Along Lincoln or in a lot where I stay,
To see where I rest you’ll look North,
But access from the side as you go forth.
Finally, be very careful around the curve that is present by the cache – do NOT park on the road unless in appropriate places that are marked, or in the parking lot. We don’t want anyone hurt!
Happy Hunting!
Update (3 June 2010): Congratulations to GeoVern for the FTF at 08:47 today!
