Every summer, the little nebulas spend a week vacationing at the 1000 Islands. The past four years, they have returned home from their trip to find a scavenger hunt of clues and riddles leading them around the house, and eventually to a Grand Prize. Last summer, since we had just started caching, geocaching made its way into the scavenger hunt, and along the way each of the kids got a container that they could use to place their very own hide. It has taken over a year, but their "Scavenger Hunt (SH)" caches are now hidden.
This is N3’s hide, along the Crescent Trail as it climbs up Horizon Hill along the golf course at Woodcliff. He had this location and style of hide picked out many months ago, and prepared the container and logbook himself. He came up with the name for the cache, did most of the work on the hide, and supplied his own dollar as a FTF prize.
You are looking for a matchstick container. Please take care with the cache. When finding it, please take a moment before retrieving to see exactly how it is hidden, so you can rehide the same way for the next cachers. There are a couple possible entry points to the trail, referenced below. Please refrain from using the nearby office building parking lot; it could draw undue attention to the cache location, and the walk from either trailhead is short and pleasant.
This cache was part of a series with a bonus cache, but that cache has been archived. Please ignore any letter/number combination codes you may find in the log.
***Note - 9/25/2010: The original style of this hide was a lot of fun, but it is clear that it will require too much maintenance to keep up to par. Going forward this is a more traditional style hide.***
