Another custom cache container so please be on the lookout for
something a bit different. Please be sure to take a pen or pencil
with you. The container is opened by unscrewing a cap, it may not
be obvious at first but it is there (the cap that is). PLEASE TAKE
CARE CLOSING THE CONTAINER SO AS NOT TO CROSS THREAD THE CAP.
The History of Frederick Von Neydel This cache is to
commemorate local oddity Frederick von Neydel. No one quite knows
where von Neydel came from but what everyone can agree upon is that
they were equally unsure as to where he would be or end up. For
Frederick had a knack of appearing in the most unusual places, and
the most surprising places and most strangely in the most
impossible of places. But stranger still not only did this odd man
himself turn up himself in odd places but often objects around him
seemed to achieve the same trick as well. Ladies rings
disappearing, then reappearing in a can of unopened pilchards.
Children’s toy marbles vanishing only to appear inside pipes
when the plumber came to fix a tap that had stopped working. Many
suspected black magic and even to this day many locals look down
and mutter “von Neydel” whenever lost car keys turn up
in unsuspecting places.
