El Arco de Piedra es un arco que se encuentra en una de las
veredas las mas excitantes veredas del Bosque de Guajataka. Para
llegar aquí caminaras a través de los mogotes dentro del bosque,
lejos de las carreteras y sonidos de la ciudad. En esta veredas
escucharas las aves y podrás ver diferentes tipos de vegetación
mientras caminas desde la parte mas baja, hasta llegar a la parte
mas alta de los mogotes. La vereda es una de fácil caminar y la
misma se mantiene con muy pocos cambio en elevación. Este lugar
puede pasar por alto mientras caminas la ruta, tal vez hayas
caminado muchas veces por aquí y no sabias que existía. El lugar es
utilizado por cazadores para dormir y por otras personas. El lugar
es visitado al menos 2 veces al año por los Voyagers de Campamento
Guajataka. El lugar esta limpio y queremos mantenerlo así, si
tienes que realizar algún CITO te lo vamos agradecer.
COMO LLEGAR
Puedes llegar a este cache de dos maneras.
1. La primera es empezando la ruta hacia el cache El Balcón
GC22YX8 y luego sigue la ruta hacia el cache. (Distancia al cache
1.2 millas)
2. La segunda opción es comenzando en el Bosque de Guajataka
donde puedes hacer varios de los caches que hay en el Bosque como:
Cueva del Viento GC1XB18, Torre Observación Forestal Guajataca
GC22Y7C, Bosque Guajataka I GC16635.
Si haces esta opción puedes estacionarte en estas coordenadas N 18
25.110 W 66 57.917 que es cerca de la torre de observación nueva
(no esta abierta al público todavía) o frente a la oficina del DRNA
del Bosque en N 18 25.244 W 66 57.965.
La vereda La Caballa comienza en N 18 25.152 W 66 57.900
(Distancia al cache es 2.1 millas).
3. Existe otra opción siguiendo la carretera #476 hasta llegar
al final de la carretera. Esta opción no es recomendada esta
carretera es solitaria y el lugar donde dejarás tu carro
NO ES SEGURO!!!!
Se recomienda llevar bastante agua, zapatos cerrados preferible
botas (no Crocs, chancletas etc), por favor no llevar machetes ni
nada asi, si algún Vigilante del DRNA lo ve con esto puede tener
problemas, recuerda estas en un Bosque donde NO puedes dañar
nada.
Si utilizas la ruta hacia el Balcón hay mucha maleza que puede
llegar a tu cintura en varios lugares así que pantalón largo es
recomendado, después del Balcón la ruta esta limpia. Si vienes
desde el bosque la ruta esta limpia todo el trayecto.
El cache es un envase lock&lock pequeño (ver foto del
listing), incluye una hoja para firmar, favor traer lápiz. Favor de
colocarlo de la misma manera que lo encontró.

Welcome
El “Arco de Piedra” is a stone arch is found in one
of the most exciting trails in the Guajataka Forest. To reach the
cache you will have to walk thru the haystack hills (mogotes), far
away from roads and the entire city sounds. On this trails you will
hear birds singing and you can see the different types of
vegetation as you walk from a lower elevation until you reach the
top of the mogotes.
This is an easy to walk trail, there is not much elevation
changes. You could walk by this place and didn’t notice its
existence. Hunters and other people use this place. This place is
visited at least twice a year by the Voyager Staff from Camp
Guajataka. The place is pretty clean and we try to keep it that
way, if you have to do some CITO it will be appreciated.
DIRECTIONS
Cache can be reached by two ways.
1. First option is to follow the trail to EL BALCON GC22YX8 and
keep on going at this trail till you reach the cache. (Distance to
cache is 1.2 miles)
2. Second option is starting at Guajataka Forest were you can do
other caches that are available like:
Cueva del Viento GC1XB18, Torre Observación Forestal Guajataca
GC22Y7C, Bosque Guajataka I GC16635.
If you do this option parking Hill be available at N 18 25.110 W
66 57.917 this is near the new observation tower (its not open to
the public yet) or you can park in front of the DNRA office N 18
25.244 W 66 57.965.
La Caballa Trail starts at N 18 25.152 W 66 57.900 (Distance to
cache is 2.1 miles).
3.There is another option following road #476 until you reach
the end of the road. I wouldn’t recommend this option, this
is a lonely road and the place were you will park your car is
NOT A SAFE PLACE!!!.
You should bring water, closed shoes is a must (No Crocs or
sandals) boots are recommended. Please leave your machete at home,
if a DRNA Ranger sees you with one it will be trouble for you,
remember this is a forest reserve and your are not supposed to cut
or damage anything.
If you follow the route to El Balcón there is a lot of shrubs
and overgrown that can reach you waist, so long pants are
recommended. Once you get to El Balcon the trails is nice and
clean. If you are coming from the other route (thru the forest) the
trail is clean all the way.
The cache is a small lock&lock container (see photo),
includes only a log sheet, please (BYOP) bring your pen. Please
hide the cache in the same way you found it.
