If you're coming downhill from Mt Sizer, to the NW, this great view spot is where the road gets much steeper and the vegetation more sparse. I enjoyed "bombing" downhill from the top of Sizer, hitting a slightly dangerous 26mph at one point on my bicycle.
Why does the vegetation get sparse here? Well, a few feet down the road from here you pass from the "unburned" area to the "burned" area from the 2007 fire. Nature is healing very well. The current landscape looks much better than the Google Earth images, with few signs of fire except the burned-out trees. Enjoy!
