This small cache was placed during a visit to Bamfield's west side while on a day trip from Port Alberni aboard the M.V. Frances Barkley. This cargo/passenger vessel travels to Bamfield 3 days a week all year and in the summer months she goes across the Canal to Ucluelet on alternate days .
Bamfield is a tiny fishing community on the west coast of Vancouver Island and is accessible by boat, however the east side is also accessible by road from Port Alberni. This west side has a sturdy board walk that takes you past the General Store (good ice cream cones), the Post Office, the Canadian Coast Guard, and many of the local homes showing you a truly relaxed lifestyle. No hustle and bustle here.
The spot chosen for this cache is a lovely break of the open-ness of the boardwalk and it would be a cool spot on those hot days. The overhead trees make the coords very jumpy, but check the picture below. When you see that area you are almost an arm's length from the cache. Yes, we want you to find it - you've come this far to get it. You are looking for a cammoed film canister so you need to bring your own writing thingamajiggy, OK?
