An easy cache between road and river.
Garsdale New Bridge is not particularly new, in fact it was already called New Bridge before it was rebuilt around 1930. Names tend to be retained for centuries around here, so I suspect that it has been called New Bridge since the turnpike road was build a hundred and sixty years ago. Canoeists will be familiar with this location because it is one of their easy access points to the Clough River. The cache is well away from the river, in fact it is close to the road, with easy parking on the access track to the long-derelict Gilese's Farm.
