Geocache Description:

This should be a quick find at Capilano River Regional Park, No need to touch anything with spiky nails.

Driving down the road to the park gives one the feel of entering an enchanted forest. When you get to the parking lot you know you are in a very special rain forest. Anything is possible. You begin to believe in fairies, gnomes, and other mythical forest creatures. Then you come across a magic mushroom that looks like it was born in this forest sometime in the far, far, away past when the world was a younger place. And you believe.

Travel the trails in this park with the sense of awe and wonder it deserves. Steep rock canyons bordering mysterious dark swirling pools. Find 1000 year old trees - what secrets do they hold? Incredible views at every turn - put on by Nature just for your enjoyment.

The park is also home to the Capilano River Hatchery, operated by the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans that helps to maintain the wild coho, chum, and steelhead runs in the river.

Unfortunately GPS reception in the area is terrible. The cache should be easy to find even if you only have a few minutes before your tour bus leaves.

Enjoy your visit to Capilano River Park.

This cache was placed as a practice cache during the Introduction to Geocaching course presented by the BC Geocaching Association in partnership with Metro Vancouver Parks. There are a number of signatures of participants and leaders in the back of the log book. These people will only log after the FTF.
