Tulip Tree Liriodendron tulipifera
This is a very rare and unusual tree found only in the very southern part of Ontario and along the southern edge of Lake Huron from Grand Bend to Sarnia. It grows to 100 ft. tall has a leaf shaped like a tulip and yellow tulip like flowers which are in full bloom right now.
This tree is located on private property just off of Park view Cresc. The owners of this property are very pleasant and I hope if you should see them you will say hello they are Anne and Casy. Casy was the naturalist at the Pinery Provincial Park for many years and is now retired.
I have explained to them what geo-caching is all about and they are happy to show off their Tulip Tree.
