The Fairyoak Arch can be found on a public bridleway and footpath in the village of Arthog.
The footpath itself is well used and can get quite muddy, especially when the weather has been wet. Although young children can access the cache, the path is not accessible to pushchairs.
The cache is a small clip lock box with a log book and pencil and filled with small items, an unactivated geocoin for the FTF and our own geocoin to start on its journeys.
Rumour has it that the arch is the entrance to the fairy world and at night fairies can be seen dancing in the moonlight beneath the ancient oak. Fairy children are said to leave tiny glass hearts in the woods for human children to find. Those who stumble across one will be blessed with a lifetime of good luck. Our own children swear that they have seen fairies in these woods and it would be very interesting to hear of any similar sightings in logs.
This is a very special place to our family who have spent many happy times fairy spotting here! Please look after it so that others can enjoy for generations to come.
